My shipment was sent deliver duty paid (DDP), why was the receiver charged duty and tax?

There are several reasons why the receiver may have been charged duty and tax. When you book a shipment as ‘deliver duty paid’ DDP, new labels must be issued to you. If the new labels were not issued or used by you, your receiver will be charged all duties and taxes due. If the labels were correctly generated and used, the problem may be that the customs office charged your receiver incorrectly or that your destination is a country that does not allow DDP shipments.

The recipient should, in the first instance, contact the courier in the destination country and ask them to reverse the charges to the shipper. If they are unable to do so, then please contact our customer services team.
